Issue #2 Nearly Gone!! CFE due Feb. 28th
The October issue of The Hand Magazine is almost sold out. There are just a few copies left at Hand HQ. After this week, the only places to get a hard copy will be at one of our fine retailers. Make sure you get your copy right now! After this weekend, it will only be available via digital download. This is our largest issue and includes many beautiful images including several images from the amazing Wet Plate Mask Series. This is a collection of images made by some of the world’s top wet plate artists, and is only available in print here!
Also, Issue #2 cover artist, Leonor Jurado is going to be signing copies of the magazine at Garcia Squared Contemporary, where she will be part of a groups exhibition this Friday night. Garcia Squared is a great gallery run by a great guy, Israel Alejandro Garcia Garcia. The gallery showcases contemporary Latino/a artists from around the country. We are really excited to be part of the event. Garcia Squared will continue to carry The Hand #2 and #3 through the First Friday of March, when there will be a second event for the same groups show.
Also, February is quickly rolling by! Get your submissions in before Feb. 28th. We would love for you to print a copy of the CFE and post it somewhere you think artists would see it- art departments, coffee shops, supply stores, galleries, etc.
And finally, don’t forget to subscribe before May 31 to receive a special thank you from James and me. We want to show our appreciation to those who have subscribed to The Hand in our first year. You have given us confidence and encouragement. Because of you, The Hand has been able to spread the word about our cause for hand-made reproduction-based art. We have big plans for the coming year. We hope you will join us!
Thanks very much! The Hands,
Adam Finkelston & James Meara
