Call For Entries Due Feb. 28th!!
Time is running out to SUBMIT YOUR IMAGES to Issue 20, coming out in April. The due date for submissions is Feb. 28th – this Wednesday! And remember, SUBSCRIBERS can submit for no additional fee.
We have an exciting printmaking feature coming in the April issue – we’ll keep it a secret until the ink is dry though. But it will definitely be a killer feature and one that you won’t want to miss.
We are looking for the freshest, unique, experimental and idiosyncratic work in contemporary printmaking, collage and photography. Any works of art incorporating a printed process is acceptable, from digital to hand printed, hybrids, and everything in between! The guiding principle is to celebrate the hand of the artist in mechanical reproduction – the “(hu)-man” in the machine, so to speak. The artist’s hand can be present in the print itself or in tableaux, still life, and other types of arranged or directed subjects.
The Hand is an equal opportunity publisher. There is never any theme for submissions. We want variety! The Hand strives to be a forum for visual storytellers across the spectrum. That includes students and artists just beginning their careers, as well as more established veteran artists. We want to see what you are working on and share it with our readers.
All submissions include a copy of the magazine – essentially a single issue subscription – whether your work is selected for this issue or not; and subscribers pay no additional submission fees. So get those submissions in order and send them in soon, and help us make Issue 20 the best issue yet!
Thanks from the hands! – Adam Finkelston and James Meara
